New Year, New You: Skin Rejuvenation in 2017

Hermann Wellness offers many life changing procedures and treatments to help you transform into a better, healthier individual. If you are struggling with weight, we have multiple diet plans including traditional calorie counting with a specific diet plan or optifast, a meal replacement program. With our diet plans, we offer MIC B, dietary supplements and appetite suppressants such as Phentermine, Contrave, Qysmia and Belviq if wanted in addition to the diet program.

We also treat other health issues that may aid in your ability to lose weight like hormone imbalance and thyroid problems. We provide bio-identical hormone replacement therapy via creams, troche, by mouth and pellets. Many people that struggle with weight also have endocrine issues like hypothyroidism. Traditional thyroid medications typically address TSH only, and many people feel better and have less symptoms if T3 and T4 are addressed in addition to TSH. Therefore, we use medications that address T3 and T4 such as WP Thyroid, Nature-Throid, Armour, and Cytomel. Diet also can aid in thyroid and other medical issues. Eighty percent of symptoms can be healed through the gut. So, here at Hermann Wellness, we have detox and anti-inflammatory diets for our patients. What Cellulite? Smooth Skin Can Be Yours

Nobody wants cellulite, but it forms in its own stubborn way regardless. Many women with cellulite on their legs and buttocks feel self conscious and avoid wearing shorts or bathing suits. If you have lost your natural confidence due to bothersome cellulite, there is good news! Laser cellulite reduction is now available using the SmoothShapes laser to reduce the appearance of cellulite and help you embrace your body once again.

Why Does Cellulite Form?
Cellulite is caused by enlarged fat cells that become trapped right below the surface of the skin. Since the texture of the fat is visible through the skin, it causes the skin to look dimpled and crinkly, rather than smooth. It’s a common misconception that cellulite is caused by obesity and poor eating and exercising habits, but the truth is that genetic and hormonal factors are largely responsible for any cellulite on your body. Cellulite creams and “miracle cures” have been on the market for years offering empty promises, but the SmoothShapes laser provides scientifically proven results. Continue reading “What Cellulite? Microneedling with a Dermapen®

These holes stimulate the skin to produce new collagen and elastin, which are the two components absolutely critical to health, radiant skin. After five to six microneedling treatments, the skin will show undeniable results including minimized scarring, reduced lines and wrinkles, and generally healthier skin. Microneedling can also be combined with PRP for dramatic results. Continue reading “Rejuvenate Your Skin with Microneedling” »

Skin Rejuvenation Basics, Part 2: Wrinkles and Texture

Another component of rejuvenation that should be addressed is Texture. Sun exposure, acne, or aging can leave your skin texture uneven, wrinkled, or scarred. Which, can be improved by toxins, chemical peels, lasers, topicals, microdermabrasion and/or micro-needling. Botulinum toxins such as Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin reduce fine lines on the face by weakening the muscles. Injections of botulinum toxin blocks muscular nerve signals, which then weakens the muscle so it can’t contract that causes fine lines. The end result is diminished unwanted facial wrinkles. Rejuvenation can be achieved by addressing three components. The first is Volume which can be achieved with different types of fillers, fat transplant, and/or surgery. The second is Texture. Texture can be improved by toxins, chemical peels, lasers, topicals, microdermabrasion and/or micro-needling. Lastly is skin Tone. Procedures to help with tone and color are chemical peels, cryotherapy, lasers, topicals and intense pulse light (IPL).

Today we are going to review ways to decrease or increase Volume. Volume can be decreased beneath the chin with using Kybella. Kybella is a synthetic deoxycholic acid a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat under the chin it destroys fat cells decreasing the fullness under the chin. Once these fat cells are destroyed, they can no longer store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired effect, which can take one to six treatments. Other ways to reduce volume throughout the body is diet, cool sculpting, liposuction, etc. As we age we naturally lose fat in some areas and gain in others.
