Here’s how it works:

Micro-needling therapy, or collagen induction therapy, is a minimally-invasive non-surgical procedure used effectively for reducing scars caused by acne, chicken pox, injury, surgery, burns, for reducing fine and deep wrinkles, tightening sagging skin, fading stretch marks, correcting dyspigmentation, and overall facial rejuvenation.  The procedure involves the use of an electronic, wand-like micro-needling device to create a minor and controlled skin injury which in turn encourages your skin to produce collagen to repair the treated area. Dermanpen Skin Therapy

The Dermapen is an automated fractional micro-needling device that is used for multiple skin conditions.  By puncturing the skin and creating a small dermal injury, the body responds with a physiological process that improves the skin.  This is a natural process, thus Dermapen is a holistic skin therapy approach.

Treatment applications include skin rejuvenation, tightening and lifting, reduction of wrinkles and fine lines, improvement of stretch marks, minimization of pore size, and improvement of surgical, keloid and acne scars.  It is as effective as laser therapy, but side effects as well as the recovery period are significantly reduced.

Dr. Anne Hermann, a holistic internal medicine physician, offers Dermapen to her patients.  Dr. Hermann maintains offices in Tampa and Saint Petersburg Beach, Florida.  Please contact the office at (813) 902-9559 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

DermaPen for Stretch Marks in Tampa and St Petersburg

DermaPen treatments by Dr. Anne Hermann in Tampa and St. Petersburg impressively treat stretch marks.  In 2012, DermaPen won the award for the best skin rejuvenation device on the medical market.  DermaPen treatments for stretch marks effectively diminish stretch marks at a fraction of the price of other treatments and for a much shorter down-time.

How does the  DermaPen treat stretch marks?

Stretch marks are caused by the tearing of the dermis.  The DermaPen addresses stretch marks by stimulating new collagen growth through Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT).  The needles of the Dermapen are able to perfectly target the stretch marks which stimulates growth hormones.  This results in fading the stretch marks and creating smooth and healthy, pigmented skin.

How many Dermapen treatments are needed?

Most patients will see improvement in the skin in just one treatment.  In most cases, 5-6 treatments are needed to fully counteract the white and textured appearance of the stretch marks.  Four weeks between treatments is recommended in order for the skin to complete a full skin cycle.  Dr. Hermann will personalize your Dermapen treatments at your first consultation with her. To schedule your appointment (813) 902-9559.

Dermapen Treatment for Acne Scars Tampa St. Pete

Anne Hermann, MD

The Dermapen treatment offered in the offices of Dr. Anne Hermann minimizes acne scars.  Standard acne treatments need to be used for an extensive period of time and result in scarring. The Dermapen treatments for acne scars are short term and create excellent results in counteracting scarring.  Dr. Anne Hermann creates a tailored regimen for each patient dependent on the condition of the acne scars, with the typical number of Dermapen treatments needed for acne scars being 6-8.

How does the Dermapen treatment work to minimize acne scars?

Scars are often thickened, deformed tissue that replaces healthy skin after an injury. The Dermapen treatment uses micro needles to bring normal blood flow to the scarred tissue.  The old, fibrous tissue is broken up with the Dermapen and collagen and new, healthy skin is created.

Dermapen vs Fraxel Laser Tampa St. Pete

Posted by Anne Hermann on Fri, Nov 09, 2012 @ 12:29 PM

Dermapen is the newest addition to anti-aging cosmetic treatments in the offices of Anne Hermann, MD. The closest technology to Dermapen is laser, such as Fraxel, which drills holes in the skin that create wounds in the  dermis and epidermis.  On the other hand, Dermapen uses an array of micro-needles which gently pierce the upper layers of the skin which stimulates the skin to repair itself.

Dermapen and Fraxel will have similar results, but the process and side effects are very different.  Side effects of the Fraxel laser can include charring of the skin, reddening and rough, bumpy skin texture.  With Fraxel laser, recovery time can be as long as 3-4 days! On the other hand, Dermapen does not create any of the side effects of Fraxel laser and downtime is as little as 24 hours.

Call now to schedule your Dermapen treatment by calling the offices of Anne Hermann, MD, PA at (813) 902-9559.
