PDO Threads | Tampa & St. Petersburg

PDO threads are Polydioxanone absorbable threads that promote collagen production in the body. Depending on the type of PDO thread and injection technique, these threads can lift, tighten or add volume to the area treated.

How does it work?

Wrinkles are mainly caused by the loss of fat, skin elasticity, bone or collagen below the skin’s surface. PDO Threads stimulate collagen production, promote skin tightening and lift. Botox and dermal filler can be used in conjunction with PDO Threads for a comprehensive solution to wrinkle correction and prevention.

Are PDO thread lifts safe?

Yes, PDO threads are completely safe and have been FDA-Approved. The material has been used for years as a dissolving suture for surgery. Cosmetic applications of PDO threads have been used for years in Europe with great success. PDO threads should completely dissolve within 6 months following their insertion, leaving behind new collagen in their place with results lasting up to 1 to 2 years. Nova PDO threads are completely dissolvable and reversible, making them a safe alternative to past thread facelifts.

Types of PDO Threads

Nova Threads offer 3 varieties of PDO threads, smooth, smooth twisted and barbed, each of which creates a different effect.

Smooth Nova Threads add volume over time by increasing collagen production that thickens and supports the skin. This volume is smoothly distributed throughout the area. These are most often injected in a mesh of threads to create three-dimensional volume.

Smooth-Twisted Nova Threads create targeted volume in the specific areas treated.

Barbed Nova Threads lift and tighten the skin smoothly by stimulating collagen to contract below the skin’s surface.

What to expect with PDO Threads?

Neck and Lower Face

PDO threads are placed under the skin in the subcutaneous fat. A lifted appearance can be seen immediately following treatment and results will further improve in the following days and weeks as the PDO stimulates neocollagenesis, which in turn produces collagen. Over time, the overall texture of the skin will improve becoming tighter and minimizing fine lines and wrinkles.

PDO Threads can create three-dimensional lift and volume in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines. Lifting PDO barbed threads can create tightening below the skin’s surface and builds a stronger collagen support system within the skin.

Neck and Lower Face

PDO threads in conjunction with Botox can give you the best possible correction for crow’s feet. As well as lifting the brows without surgery. PDO Threads offer the unique ability to control and selectively lift sections of the brow. This creates a natural-looking result tailored to the individual.

Crepey skin can be minimized with PDO threads by promoting new collagen growth. And horizontal neck bands, also called necklace lines, can be improved with PDO threads to support the skin and rebuild collagen throughout the area.

Is the PDO thread procedure painful?

PDO threads are inserted with needles and cannulas that are coated by silicon and polished several times in order to reduce both pain and bleeding during the procedure. A numbing cream will also be applied before the treatment to make the procedure more comfortable.
