Juvederm and Juvederm Ultra Plus are dermal fillers made of hyaluronic acid and are FDA approved to correct nasolabial folds. They are often used under the eyes, around the mouth and jaw line and in the cheeks.
What are the differences between Juvederm Ultra and Juvederm Ultra Plus?
Both products are gel fillers but the differences between the two products are based on their consistency. Juvederm Ultra is a thinner product with a smaller molecule which makes it a better choice for fine lines, under the eyes and for the lips. Juvederm Ultra can also be used for the anti-aging of the hands and ear lobes. Juvederm Ultra Plus is a thicker, more volumizing formula which makes it ideal for more severe wrinkles, deeper nasolabial folds and for more advanced facial volume loss.
Both products are offered with lidocaine to minimize the discomfort of the injection.
