Inserting the threads stimulates a process known as neocollagenesis, which leads to increased collagen production in the skin. Even after they dissolve, the threads leave behind newly-developed collagen that visibly lifts, tightens, volumizes, and smooths the skin.
In addition to being a safe, non-surgical treatment option, PDO threads are popular among patients because they require little to no downtime. Usually, patients need to take no longer than one night off of their regular activities.
