Dermapen is the newest addition to anti-aging cosmetic treatments in the offices of Anne Hermann, MD. The closest technology to Dermapen is laser, such as Fraxel, which drills holes in the skin that create wounds in the 
dermis and epidermis. On the other hand, Dermapen uses an array of micro-needles which gently pierce the upper layers of the skin which stimulates the skin to repair itself.
Dermapen and Fraxel will have similar results, but the process and side effects are very different.
